The legal name of the University is the University of Bedfordshire Higher Education Corporation. The preferred name of the University is the University of Bedfordshire.

The University’s Board of Governors has due regard for the Charity Commission’s guidance on the reporting of public benefit, particularly its supplementary public benefit guidance on the advancement of education.
