Butterfield is home to a purpose-designed building for Nursing and Midwifery students, which boasts a wide range of fantastic modern facilities.
£1m has been invested into Butterfield Park in order to offer our Health, Nursing and Midwifery students the best teaching and learning resources. And the investment paid off: Butterfield Park has been named Green Office of the Year 2008 in the prestigious The Office Development Awards competition for the environmental development of the future. Butterfield Park is a 85-acre business and technology zone providing dedicated state-of-the-art teaching and learning facilities, including a skills lab to ensure that students have plenty of opportunities to develop and refine their clinical skills.
Future developments will include simulation labs complete with fully functional theatre, ward, and clinic environments.
Butterfield Park also boasts a mix of fully-networked computer suites, and a Learning Resources Centre which is home to a digital library boasting 2,000 health-related e-journals. Nursing students also have access to the NHS Trust Libraries as well as the many specialist texts and journals available at the Park Square campus.
Butterfield Park is also home to the Luton Institute of Research in the Applied Natural Sciences (LIRANS), which focuses on postgraduate training, research, applied research and product development - in association with other academic groups and in close collaboration with industry. LIRANS carries out research in three broad areas: cryobiology, environmental change and sensors.
Butterfield Park is an 85-acre building and technology zone located on the northeast side of Luton. It fronts the A505 dual carriageway and benefits from access to the A1(M) and the M1. It’s also near to the University’s Putteridge Bury Campus, which is only four miles from the main Park Square campus.
