Robert would definitely recommend the University of Luton to any student. “All too often, the new universities get a bad press for no reason. I think Luton’s forward thinking approach really benefits learners, and that’s what it’s all about,” he said.

Robert originally chose Luton because it was close to home, offered the course he wanted to study and appeared to be vibrant and exciting. The University lived up to all his expectations, and he really enjoyed the social scene as well as the course.

“The University was very forward thinking in offering the courses that young people and employers wanted. The course was good for me in that it started fairly general, then allowed me to specialise in my chosen discipline.”

After graduating, Robert worked during the summer at a communications agency, and was then offered the position of corporate communications officer at Stevenage Borough Council.

He has now been working in communications, PR and marketing for more than six years, and has just been promoted to Head of Marketing and Communications at the Learning and Skills Council Hertfordshire, which funds, plan and promotes all post-16 education for the county apart from University provision.
