Wesley Clarke is starting to make it big in the music business. His new single ‘Wesley Clark - It'll be Okay' was released on Ink Records and was in the Upfront Club Chart top 20 for six weeks, peaking at number five alongside such artists as Sugababes, Emma Bunton and Kosheen.

Wesley, or Squint, as he is professionally known, always knew he wanted to work in record production. But when he told his school careers advisor he wanted to be a sound engineer, the response was: “Good, but what do you really want to do?”

“This put me off so much that I went on to take ‘A’ Levels in Electronics, Physics and Maths,” said Wesley.

By the time he’d left college and spent a year working on some music of his own, he knew he wanted to pursue a career in music. To do this, he couldn’t have chosen a better place than Luton.

“Being from the area, I was less than keen to study at the local University, but to be honest, it’s one of the best things I could have done. The course helped me a lot, giving me an opportunity to be ‘hands-on’ and gain real experience of production.”

With a Luton education behind him, Wesley is making a name for himself in the competitive world of music.

“I’ve recorded an album, and have remixed for the likes of Annie Lennox, Another Level and Dub Pistols,” he said.

“I also won a Radio 1 competition as an unsigned artist, and got some airtime as my prize. That gave me a real boost and things just keep getting better.”

Recently, Wesley has been a guest DJ on Galaxy FM and has just finished remixing Nate James' new single, 'The Message', together with Rob Wilder from 'Hed Kandi' and Konrad Gordon.

Wesley has also been signed up to remix one of the winning tracks from the forthcoming Bacardi DJ competition.
