“I‘m a Campaign Manager with Wild Promotions in London. We’re a music promotion company, doing mainly marketing, public relations and promotions. It’s a very creative role so I love the challenges brainstorming for ideas.
“I started there on work experience for one day a week in 1998, then a permanent position came up in 1999 which I was offered. I currently live in Brighton and while I love my job the commute is very tiring. I’d like to find a similar position nearer to home and preferably still connected to music. However, the industry is very London-based, so I’ll be content with any sort of marketing position which would suit my skills and personality.
“I loved the people at Luton and in particular, the people who came to the clubs I was DJing at. It was a very exciting time for music and getting positive feedback from the crowds was a real treat.
“While I was still at the University I was DJing at various clubs around town (Legends, Mirage, and the Student Union) and when I graduated, I continued to work as a self-employed DJ at venues such as Bar Aqua and the Edge.
“I chose the University of Luton because it offered the course I wanted to do, it was near to London, and Luton airport was on my doorstep, so I was easily able to fly back home to Belfast.
“My course lecturers were excellent and very approachable. I would definitely like to thank them for helping me succeed!!
Krister made a lot of really good friends at the University, who he is still in contact with today. He is grateful to a lot of people (especially the Student Union) who gave him opportunities and believed in his abilities.
