“I am now Marketing Manager at the University of Teesside.”

While studying at Luton Jane got the chance to specialise in marketing which helped her choose her career path. After graduating, her first job was Marketing Sponsorship and PR Executive for Queens Park Rangers FC and Wasps RFC, where she got the opportunity to meet a few famous faces including Vinnie Jones, Trevor Sinclair and Lawrence Dallaglio. After 4 years in this post Jane moved onto South Northamptonshire Council where she helped to develop the Corporate Communications Team.

Jane’s next job took her into education when she landed the job of Marketing Manager at Northampton College. She moved on from there to the University of Teesside where she has been Marketing Manager for the last 3½ years.

Jane studied at Luton when it had just gained University status which was an exciting time with a great deal of investment and expansion. Jane said: “The lecturers were great, really friendly and helpful. You could always get hold of them to discuss any issues on a one-to-one basis. They often gave alternative views and made me think about things differently.”

Some of Jane’s fondest memories of her time at Luton were the social scene. Jane said: “I remember nights spent at the Coliseum night club and my first year in the Halls of Residence with 10 people crammed into a tiny room until 3am and then getting up for lectures at 9am the next day!

Jane obviously picked up a bit of experience there too as she now also runs her own pub with her partner!
