"I am now a Sports Studies Lecturer"
Originally from Lowestoft, Jonathan has nothing but praise for the University of Luton.
After graduating he went on to work as a Sports Studies and HND Sport, Health & Exercise Science Lecturer for Easton College in Norwich.
He said: “Although Luton was my second choice of University, it was by no means a second-rate choice. I chose to study Leisure Studies as I’ve always known that I wanted to work within the Leisure and Tourism industry, and this seemed a good place to start!
“The course was excellent and I met some great people through it. You have to be pretty out-going and confident to work within this type of field so there wasn’t any worry of people being shy and inhibited on this course!
“I worked as a Halls-Warden during my time at Uni which was an excellent way to meet new people every year and to save a lot of money on rent! Being a Warden of the Halls of Residence meant that I had to deal with any problems that arose – mainly helping people who locked themselves out of their rooms!
“I’m quite an active person, as a Sports Studies Lecturer I suppose you have to be! I play rugby and golf, and I like to rock-climb but my true passion is cycling. Luton was great for this as, although it’s only half an hour away from London, it’s also so close to lots of great places to cycle.
“There’s a lot of green fields and countryside near to Luton, lots of parks and open spaces, so even though you’re in a busy, industrial town, there’s always somewhere to go to relax.
“I’d recommend Luton to anyone who was thinking of going there. I had a great time!”
