If we take Sinead at her word we may have to wait some time to discover how the UoB has shaped her career. However, I will make a guess and say it already has. Sinead is running her own, hugely successful, online interior design magazine: Largom.

Whilst still at University she started the journal as a way of fuelling her passion for design. Aimed at bridging the gap between traditional design and architectural magazines, Sinead says: "Largom is receiving 10,000 impressions per month."

Since graduating in 2008 Sinead’s days are a whirlwind of meetings with designers, architects and advertisers. In addition she is responsible for the layout and all the business aspects of the project. Many of her skills were sharpened during her time at University.

Passion appears as a recurring theme in her study and work. Her love of radio led her to manage Luton FM in her final year and she also gained experience with local radio BBC 3CR. Sinead says: "it was a fantastic time that really promoted my confidence and self esteem."

Sinead cites fellow Irish alumna, Johannah Flaherty, as a major influence during her studies. "Johannah gave me lots of advice from how to run a successful campaign to how to write a great press release!" On reflection Sinead recommends pursuing a passion and working your career around it.
