From Big Idea to Business Success – the BIG Idea Challenge Webinar
On Friday 26th March 2021, members of the Creative Spark project team in the business school co-organised a webinar with partners in Ukrainian Engineering Pedagogics Academy (UEPA) and Simon Kuznets Kharkiv National University of Economics (KhNUE) as part of the British Council’s Creative Spark Enterprise Education programme. The Big Idea Challenge encourages students to develop business ideas and practice pitching those ideas.
The webinar included guidance on how to turn the Big Idea into a successful business delivered by Patricia Wilson and introduced the learning materials available to tutors and students involved in the project.
The event was hosted by Dr. Elena Iarmosh from KhNUE the project partner institution in the Ukraine and included introduction by Prof Yanqing Duan, the guest lecture by Patricia Wilson and the introduction of the training materials by Dr. Yongmei Bentley, from the Department of Strategy and Management at UBBS.
60 students and staff attended from the Ukraine who showed great interest in the webinar and asked very interesting and challenging questions about the start up process and how to work to create successful business ventures.
Creating Creative Entrepreneurs (CCE) is a project that aims to develop entrepreneurial skills and create positive impact on the creation of creative entrepreneurs and self-employment in the creative industries in the UK and Ukraine. The project is funded by the British Council Creative Spark Higher Education Enterprise Programme.
