Employability Strategy

Employability Strategy

The employability agenda has risen in prominence at the University with a new strategy being approved by Academic Board in June 2009. The development of this was heavily influenced by Bridges CETL’s work in relation to careers and personal development planning in the curriculum and it will allow the work of Bridges to be sustained.

The strategy has five substantial core aims, which are:

  • To further enhance the University of Bedfordshire’s reputation as a leading national and international institution for student employability;
  • To increase the visibility of employability as a core strategic objective within the academic and student culture of the University;
  • To raise students’ awareness of the need to experience and learn from a wide range of opportunities to develop and practice high level employability skills;
  • To support students in taking responsibility for their personal, professional and academic development;
  • To increase the range and availability of student real-world, work experience opportunities, develop an enterprise and entrepreneurship culture and increase the quality, depth and range of work with employers.
