Bridges
undertook a systematic review of the University’s curriculum, drawing
on
pedagogic theories and sectoral best practice, and developed a revised curriculum framework expressed in the Curriculum
Review
for 2008 (CRe8) – Stimulating Learning. CRe8 provides an integrated model for learner development and employability and has been adopted by the University of Bedfordshire for implementation across all of its taught provision.

CRe8 articulates the University's approach to creating an
environment which supports effective teaching and learning. CRe8:
CRe8 draws on the views of staff and students across the University and perceived effective practice in the sector. It identifies five inter-related strands designed to engage and motivate students, and prepare them for further study and life beyond the University: Personalised Learning, Curriculum, Realistic Learning, Employability and Assessment.
These five strands are expanded upon within the CRe8 Wiki where you will find a wealth of information about course design; assessment strategies; research informed teaching; pedagogy, and the use of technology and much more.
CRe8 sets out the key aspects of the
curriculum which will help achieve the University's vision of a University of Bedfordshire
graduate who is:
“knowledgeable, critical and creative; who understands who they are and what they want to achieve; who can communicate effectively, evidence attainments and function in context; and who has the skills, self-confidence and self-regulatory abilities to manage their own development”.
You are welcome to take and adapt CRe8 and SOAR documents. However, once used, please acknowledge Bridges CETL, University of Bedfordshire.
