
The National Flux Competition was held for the fourth time in 2010 - 30,000 students have been involved so far. Six budding entrepreneurs, Alexia Francesca Grech, Manjunath Basapoor, Greg Dorban, Alin Dobrea, Batjargal Sugarjav and Simona Stasiulyte, represented the University of Bedfordshire in this challenging inter-university Flux Competition and won! Bridges CETL supported the organisation of two Writing retreats for staff from across the University held in 2009 and 2010. The aim of the retreats was to provide an opportunity for staff development and to support staff with their research or project writing in a peer-supported environment. View photos

In 2010, Bridges in co-operation with the University's Careers Service organised an in-house Flux competition. 36 students were selected from an open invitation and volunteers were prepped and primed during January and February 2010 to develop employability and enterprise skills. View photos

For three weeks in 2009 students and staff involved in B:Fest managed various arts events to showcase the town’s and University’s creative arts and cultural scene. Following the success of the pilot event in 2008, B:Fest returned in 2009 with a programme that had a theme - Inspiration. This has now become the annual Luton Arts Festival. View photos

Bridges has been on the committee of the Student Learning and Teaching Network (SLTN) for the last three years. Among other activities, the Network organises workshops and conferences to enable an exchange of information and practice between students and staff involved in T&L projects. View photos
