Summary
Students who apply to study on this course will, ideally, have some experience of using computers and will be familiar with their operation.
This course equips you with the skills and knowledge needed to work within construction management. A range of teaching and learning methods are adopted, including an Honours project, which enables you to apply comprehensively your knowledge and skills and gain useful experience for your employment.
Additionally, students on this course will develop key transferable skills all of which are desirable to employers, such as, communication skills, research and evaluation skills, creativity and critical thinking, team working, and career management skills.

Students will be taught through a series of lectures, tutorials, moderated discussions/debates and peer group support, as well as directed practical activity with dedicated online technical support.
Additionally, students will be required to conduct delf directed research and work based practical activity which can be assisted by the use of teaching packs, online technical indexes and the internet.
Our approach to teaching and learning begins with a student centred focus and progresses towards independent learning.
Where possible, experts and industry leaders will be invited to give lectures on the latest developments and trends in construction management, and building services and sustainability.
Assessment
Practical work, exams, group and individual project work.
The types of assessment used ranges from practical work that assesses the practical application of knowledge and concepts gained in lectures and seminars, and also form learning acquired during self study. Students will also give presentations and undertake report-based assessments.
Entry requirements
FdSc / HND in construction management or a closely related area, or equivalent learning experience.
