This course is delivered at Barnfield Technology Centre, Enterprise Way, which is located north of Luton town centre.
Title change: This course was formerly called 'FdSc Computer Networking and Hardware CCNA and CCNP routes'
Summary
This course offers you Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) and Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) routes.
For the CCNA route, you will have access to comprehensive CCNA training, which may lead to CCNP training. For the CCNP route, you will have access to comprehensive CCNP training.
For the MCSE route, you will have access to comprehensive MCSE training which is complemented by Cisco related training.
The course comprises sixteen units, which cover the areas of network management, server configuration/administration and computer hardware technology.
You will be able to work in the state-of-the-art facilities at Barnfield College, which have been praised by OFSTED and the Department of Education for outstanding quality in teaching and resources.
Progression to the final year of a BSc (Hons) is possible.

This course is complemented by vendor supported training which will allow you to enhance your career prospects and employment opportunities, where you may choose to benefit from the Cisco CCNA,CCNP Microsoft MCSE or CompTIA A+, Linux+ or Security+.
Assessment
Practical assessments and computer-based examinations, culminating in an individual and group based project.
Entry requirements
A nationally recognised level 3 qualification in a technical or computing discipline.
Applications are also welcome from mature entrants with alternative qualifications/experience.
Special entry requirements
For the CCNP route, you will require a CCNA gained in the last three years or successful completion of training at a Cisco Networking Academy.
