Summary
Staff in the Division of Language & Communication have many years of experience in teaching English as a foreign language and can offer a lively language teaching environment to students.
The programme is designed for native and non-native speakers of English and provides tuition in the theoretical and practical aspects of language teaching.
It focuses on topics such as the relationship between linguistics and learning English as a second or foreign language, the methodology and techniques of language teaching and the appropriateness of EFL materials.
It examines various current issues in TEFL and gives you the opportunity to carry out individual research into an area of your choosing.
The course also provides substantial opportunities to observe and teach classes, work with regular EFL teachers, prepare materials and reflect on the practical aspects of EFL work.

Entry requirements
To join the programme you will need the following:
A good honours degree and/or
A teaching qualification (eg, Certificate in TEFL)
Ideally some experience of teaching English as a Foreign Language
English language qualifications for International students: IELTS 6.5
