This course is moving from Luton campus. From September 2011 it will be based at Bedford campus.
Summary
Football is the world’s most popular sport. It is played to a high level in every continent in the world, and it has been estimated that 25 per cent of the world’s population are football supporters.
In the UK alone, it is a market worth billions of pounds, as well as having important social and cultural implications.
This course will designed for those with an interest in the sport and culture of football and those seeking employment within the football related industries. It is a multi-disciplinary degree course involving the study of football science, management and social studies.
The course is delivered by experienced teaching staff who have recognised expertise in various facets of the subject.
You will be able to study a variety of topics, including those concerned with the management of football, the coaching of football, and the role of football within society, as well as areas of study concerned with the broader areas of sport.
There are opportunities to gain football coaching awards throughout the course.
The course covers four main themes: football coaching and development, the science of football, football management and administration, and football and society.

Assessment
A range of assessment methods are used throughout the course. The assessments include individual essays, reports, presentations and examinations, and group based work.
The assessments are designed to test knowledge and understanding of the appropriate subject matter, and to demonstrate a range of skills.
Entry requirements
Standard entry requirements apply for this course.
UCAS tariff score of 200 with at least 160 from two A levels, or an Access qualification, BTEC, Advanced Diploma or equivalent.
