Dr Nik Bessis

FBCS, MIEEE, FHEA

Dr Nik Bessis obtained a BA from the Technological Educational Institute (TEI) of Athens and completed his PhD and MA at De Montfort University, Leicester, UK.

Nik joined the Department as a Lecturer in 2001 and was rapidly promoted to Senior Lecturer. In September 2004 he took on the role of Postgraduate Course Manager.

In 2009, Nik promoted to a Principal Lecturer (US Associate Professor) through the 2009 University Promotion Round and took on the role of University Extended Degrees (Return to Learning) Course Manager. Nik also coordinates the MSc project and co-chairs the Department’s curriculum development. He currently divides his time between teaching and research.

Nik believes that postgraduate study is a key career choice, and is proud that the Department is able to offer a wide range of postgraduate courses. In his spare time, Nik enjoys walking, drinking a frappe under the sun, watching movies and F1 races and meeting people from around the world.
