This unit aims to build upon the learning from the unit “Contemporary Intensive care practice” The practitioner will explore some previously studied topics in more depth as well as examining new subject matter. Much of the subject matter is considered to be more advanced or specialised in critical care.
The unit will continue to focus on the holistic management of the critically ill patient and will include a range of subjects and interventions. A sound understanding of the applied pathophysiology underpinning care will also be explored.
Your learning will be supported through a student centred work based/ focused learning approach. These will consist of a variety of learning through taught sessions, guided study and self directed learning. The remaining two sessions to be arranged by the student to meet your identified learning needs.
