This course is specifically designed for people who are working in the travel industry and would like to gain higher qualifications that will help them demonstrate their suitability for career promotion. Developed with the input of travel employers, the course aims to develop the entrepreneurs, leaders and managers needed to shape the future of the travel sector.
You will build on the training and education you have already completed, further developing your knowledge of the travel industry. You will study the current thought and practice within the sector and improve your skills and techniques. Plus, you will be encouraged to fine-tune those personal qualities that will make you an excellent candidate for travel management positions.
This course enables you to put what you already know towards a nationally recognised qualification. You will continue to improve upon your skills and understanding throughout the course and you will graduate with significantly more confidence about the industry and its related management responsibilities. As a result, you will become the kind of employee able to respond to the opportunities and challenges that face travel organisations every day.
If you already work within the travel industry, but want to build upon your current skills and knowledge in order to improve your chances for promotion, this course will empower you to do just that. Its curriculum reflects current thought and practice within the sector, so you leave equipped with the most up-to-date skills. You will graduate ready to step into your ideal management position.

A foundation degree will be of particular interest if you have completed a Modern Apprenticeship, vocational A levels, BTEC National or equivalent.
Foundation degrees are also particularly suitable if you want to qualify while working.
Many students studying for foundation degrees come to us through work-based routes so you can apply for a foundation degree even if you don’t have traditional academic qualifications.
We welcome applicants with relevant work experience.
We will consider you as an individual and take into account all elements of your application, not just your qualifications. We are looking for both breadth and depth in your current studies as well as enthusiasm for the subject you wish to study.

As a general guide, to apply for a place on an undergraduate course (BA/BSc) at the University you need to have completed your high school education and have the required English qualification.
We have students from all the European Union member countries so we are quick to make decisions on most qualifications.
(Please note that applicants on a full student visa are not eligible for part-time study)
We recommend that you apply directly to the University where possible, as this allows us to offer the quickest turnaround time for your application.
