Dr Etu-Menson is a banking and finance expert and a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Accounting and Finance. Prior to his academic interests, he pursued a professional career in banking and financial services over the last 20 years in the City of London with offshore servicing responsibilities for his clientele all over the EU and Switzerland.
His practical industry experience covers the specialist areas of corporate finance, corporate banking, portfolio and investment management services as well as practical futures and derivatives trading in commodities and fixed income instruments on international exchanges.
He brings along to the academia experience from senior management positions in blue chip financial institutions such as Flemings Merchant Bank (now JP Morgan Flemings), Zurich Banking Network, National Westminster Bank and the new Royal Bank of Scotland Group. Dr Etu-Menson is a professionally trained educationist, and worked in a number of institutions in Norway, UK and Ghana.
Dr Etu-Menson teaches the following subjects:
Dr Etu-Menson’s research interests are in international financial markets, risk management in banking operations, corporate finance in oil and gas companies, banking and financial services in emerging markets, financial management in SMEs and mortgage backed asset management and real estate finance.
He is happy to supervise PhD research in the areas of international finance and banking, corporate finance, financial management applications and emerging markets financial services.
