Peter joined the University in 1992 after an extensive and varied career in business spanning 24 years, with five large corporations. Peter specialised in computerised production planning and control, network investment and managing Acquisitions, Disposals, and Joint Venture programmes.
Peter’s teaching matches his diverse experience and qualifications. Since 1992 he has taught subjects ranging from Accounting, Quantitative Methods and Statistics to Soft Systems, Simulation and Risk Management just to name a few, mainly to third year undergraduates and postgraduate students.
Peter’s teaching effectiveness is strongly enhanced by constant reference to his business experience. In addition, he aims to communicate his subjects, most of which are quite challenging, in a language suitable for every student, thereby strengthening the learning process. In particular, accounting is demystified.
Peter's current research interests include effectiveness
of Risk Management processes and practices in UK corporations, as well as practical
application of state-of-the-art management accounting techniques.
