I first qualified as a Registered General Nurse in 1985 and initially I worked on a Paediatric ward. Personal circumstances prompted me to move to Aylesbury where I accepted a staff nurse post at the National Spinal Injuries Centre.
This was to be a temporary position but 17 years later I was still there. I was asked to undertake a course to be a children’s nurse and graduated from this course in 2003 with an Honours Degree. In 2004 I commenced as Practice Educator at the University of Bedfordshire.
I have a particular interest in recruitment which has led to me taking on additional roles which link to this area of specialism.
