Malcolm Headland

Senior Lecturer

I am a registered nurse with a clinical speciality in orthopaedic trauma and rheumatology nursing. Apart from orthopaedics, my main teaching interests include the professional, legal and ethical aspects of health care and research methodologies. I have a number of clinical link areas, with whom I endeavour to maintain good contact and relationships in order to enhance the clinical learning environment for students. I believe that effective student support is paramount and work to ensure that their rights are upheld.

  • BA (Hons) Health Care Studies
  • MSc Research and Evaluation

Research Interests

  • All research which has the potential to enhance health care.
  • Research into enhancing the student experience in Higher Education
  • Supporting for students who have specific learning difficulties such as dyslexia and dyscalculia.

Service to the Academic/Professional Community

  • Academic Director for Undergraduate Courses, in particular the Field of Healthcare with responsibility for quality assurance processes within the Field.
