The Centre
is a joint venture between the University
of Bedfordshire and Luton Housing
and Community Living and Children
and Learning Departments.
The Centre provides practice learning opportunities for students on the BSc Social Work and the MSc Social Work programmes at the University.
The Centre also offers continuing professional development opportunities for newly qualified social work students, experienced social work practitioners and social care staff who are interested in acquiring further experience and qualifications.
The centre
is managed by Marisa Forbes an experienced child care practitioner who before
being appointed to the post was seconded from Luton Borough Council with whom
she had been employed for 18 years.
The practice assessor to students in the Centre is Kathryn Jones, an experienced practitioner in the field of adult services.
