I am currently working on a project to explore two innovative approaches to delivering better social work services: the Reclaiming Social Work initiative and the potential of Motivational Interviewing to improve practice and outcomes.
This involves detailed ethnographic work in three Local Authorities, as well as conducting interviews and surveys with both families and social workers.
I am also interested in improving the standard of quantitative research methods in social work and social care, as well as developing an empirical approach to guide policy and practice in social work by exploring the use of existing large scale datasets.
