Professional Background
My professional
practice based background has involved a broad range of opportunities and
experiences located both within the Voluntary and Statutory sectors.
This has
included;
- generic youth and community work-centre based,
- detached and outreach,
- rural youth work,
- school based youth and community work,
- community development
practice,
- specialised and specifically focused; young women and the judiciary
system, counselling and support within women’s crisis centre’s.
Teaching
interests
I am actively
involved in all aspects of the Youth and Community Work programme, and can and
do deliver a variety of modules that include other academic areas; social work,
health and social care, child and adolescent studies.
My specialist areas
include:
- One to One and Group Work Practices,
- ADP,
- Experiential Learning;
application of theory to practice,
- Community Work,
- Health Education in Action,
- Social Policy and the Welfare State.
