I teach various aspects Child & Adolescent Studies which raise
issues about anti oppressive practice, policy & procedures alongside some
aspects of the law, and how legislation may relate to practice.
I also teach
for one day per week on the Youth & Community Studies as a workshop tutor
and lecturer.
As workshop tutor it is my role to provide first year students with an opportunity to discuss current youth work issues based on the students experience and ongoing development.
My interests are in teaching and developing methods which allow
students to remove the initial blockages to learning so that they are able to
understand that learning can be a fun activity.
My role as the department’s Education Champion allows me in a small way to put some of the theory into practice.
My research interests are related to the development of identity within Dual Heritage young people within British society, which happened to the focus of my degree.
