Sue Malherbe, Senior Lecturer

I am currently the Award Manager for the University’s Health and Social Care degree programmes.

I teach, and have taught, on modules such as Introduction to Health and Social Care, Welfare and The State, Developing Public Health, Disability Politics and Policy, and Equality, Need and Social Justice.

My research interests are centred on Disability and Mental Health, with particular interest in discrimination, social inclusion/exclusion and independent living.

I have recently carried out research into Direct Payments.

I am also a qualified nurse, having nursed in the UK, as well as in the US and South Africa.
