"I am now working in the PR Department of the Electricity Authority
of Cyprus."
Elina Spanou is one of our alumni who is keen to help to fund the proposed move of the Media Arts department to its new home in Park Square.
"During my studies at Luton I met people from all over the world and made friends I will keep for ever.
"I would like to help with this new project as I found Luton very friendly - my three years there were unforgettable. The professors were especially helpful, which is important for an overseas student where English is not my first language.
"During my studies, I also worked for the Student Union as a member of the entertainment crew - which was an exciting experience that has helped me with what I'm doing now."
After graduating Elina worked for a sports tourism company promoting Cyprus as a sports and training destination.
She helped to host various squads of the British Olympic Team and the British Paralympic Team.
She is currently working freelance in the PR department of the Electricity Authority of Cyprus.
She explained: "EAC is a semi-governmental organisation and a monopoly in Cyprus. Our goal as the PR department is to improve internal and external relations between the authority and its customers.
"We deal with press conferences, press releases, sponsorships, organising events and competitions for our employees and customers.
"The organisation employs 2000 people all over Cyprus, which makes our job a bit difficult but we are working on it!"
Interview took place in 2003.
