"I am a Systems Security Administrator at Walt Disney."
Immediately after Peter graduated he moved to Los Angeles to look for work and now he’s the Systems Security Administrator for the Walt Disney Company.
He looks after the development and access to web-based software used in the planning and production of Disney/Buena Vista/Miramax/Pixar/Touchstone DVD releases.
But he’s also a man of many other talents. He explains: “I’m an enthusiastic maker of things – currently it is hand-carved furniture, but I’ve made stained glass, armour, swords, leather boots, period costumes and jewellery, and I’ve also gained a reputation as a good cook. Last but not least, I’m a published author of two books on the religion of Ancient Egypt.”
Peter chose Luton because he lived there. “It certainly made things like accommodation simple,” he said. “I thoroughly enjoyed it. My degree from Luton was very useful - experience or education in the film industry was a requirement of my current position, and my experience with video editing gives me an advantage terminology wise."
“Since leaving Luton I’ve been improving my practical skills with digital technology and programming. Luton has more to offer than meets the eye at first, and the staff seem to have a genuine desire to see students do well.”
Peter is married and lives in Los Angeles. His step-daughter and her husband and son live an hour away. His son and daughter live in the UK.
