- Worked at NPU between 1985 and 1995, progressing from Assistant Lecturer to Associate Professor in 1992 and from Leader of Teaching and Research Group to Associate Dean of Management School in teaching and learning in 1992
- Worked at the University of Ulster between 2000 and 2011 where he was a Lecturer in Management, a member of Business and Management Research Institute, full-time MBA course director between 2004 and 2009, and Chair of Business School Research Governance Filter Committee since 2010
