I am a qualified nurse who has worked in a variety of settings over the last 20 years.
I am a qualified District Nurse who worked in both London and Hertfordshire. I joined NHS Direct as a nurse advisor when it was first developed and went on to become a nurse supervisor, gaining valuable skills in consultation assessment and triage of patients over the telephone.
I have also spent a period of time as a Discharge Liaison nurse within a local hospital, organising complex nursing care for patients who were to be discharged home.
I have also been a service redesign manager again at a local hospital - implementing national policy locally.
Most recently I worked with the Department of Health implementing the 'Choose and Book' programme at local level.
I am a qualified teacher in Higher Education institutions and a fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
I am currently studying a Masters degree in Leadership in Healthcare Practice.
