Dominic Carter

Profile

Dominic Carter,  Senior Lecturer in Primary Care

Dominic Carter

I've worked in community nursing since 1993, and gained my BSc(Hons) in district nursing at University of Hertfordshire in 1996.

I was on the first Bedfordshire cohort of V100 Nurse Prescribing in 1998, and have been a prescriber from the Nurse Prescriber's formulary ever since.

I am currently working on an MSc in Public Health with University of Bedfordshire.

I started lecturing part time with the University in August 2004, but also worked as infection control nurse for Bedford PCT for a year, prior to increasing my lecturing hours to full time in August 2005.

I have particular interests in primary care and nurse prescribing.

I have been programme lead for the Specialist Community Practice programmes (district nursing, health visiting and school nursing) and have also run the Nurse and Midwife Independent and Supplementary Prescribing Module since September 2006.

My hobbies include rugby, marathon running, triathlons, music (singing, guitar & sax), vegetarian cooking (and eating!), and loads of other stuff.
