Senior Lecturer in Computer Science & Technology
Dr Waharte obtained a M.Sc. in Computer Engineering from University Paris-Sud and a M.Sc. in Computer Science from University Paris 6 in 2002. She completed her Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo, Canada, in 2008.
In 2009, Dr Waharte joined the University of Oxford and worked on the EPSRC-funded SUAAVE project (Sensing Unmanned Autonomous Aerial Vehicles).
The main focus of her work has concentrated on assessing how uncertainty in sensing operations can impact the control algorithms that decide the trajectory that a UAV should follow for search and rescue operations.

Responsibilities in Research Projects
- 2009-2011: Responsible for the design and implementation of distributed control algorithms for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) acting as sensor platforms in search-and-rescue, security and surveillance application in the EPSRC-funded project ”Sensing Unmanned Autonomous Aerial Vehicles (SUAAVE)”.
- 2004-2008: Coordinated the project ”Resource Management in WLAN with sensor networks”, funded by the Software Telecommunications Group (University of Waterloo) and supervised by Prof. R. Boutaba.
- 2004-2007: Coordinated the project ”Resource Management in Wireless Mesh Networks”, funded by NORTEL Networks and supervised by Professor Raouf Boutaba.
