Associate Director Teaching and Learning
Having previously lectured and held faculty roles in the University of Bedfordshire Business School, followed by heading up a central support area, Lesley is now involved in a range of teaching and learning related activities in the Teaching and Learning Directorate.
Much of this activity is of a staff development nature, supporting staff in developing their academic practice, ultimately aimed at enhancing the student learning experience.
She is the course leader for the University's Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice (PgCAP), a Higher Education Academy (HEA) accredited course, and involved in supporting other staff through the 'HEA recognition' direct application process.
Whilst the PgCAP is delivered by members of the Teaching and Learning Directorate, the course itself is part of the Postgraduate Education suite of courses.
She is the University's link with the HEA and currently involved in leading a small team from the University in one of the HEA's Summit programmes on the low attainment of BME students in HE.
Over the course of 2009-10 she has responsibility for reviewing and developing the University's peer support and CPD processes for academic staff.
