How to Apply

Potential students are asked to observe the following:

Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Applicants

If you would like to apply for a short course or degree programme and are working within any of the Trusts in Bedfordshire or Hertfordshire, you will need to have the support of your manager in order to facilitate study time.

Once this is obtained, you will need to be nominated for funding by your Trust Training Lead to the East of England Strategic Health Authority (formerly known as the Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Workforce Development Directorate).

Once funding has been agreed, you will be sent a University of Bedfordshire application form, via your Trust training lead. After completion, please return it your Trust Training Lead who will then log your application and send it to the NHS Business Unit for processing.

  • Applications for all programmes modules should be received by the University at least 8 weeks in advance.
  • Once the application form has been processed by the University, you will be sent a programme pack at least two weeks before commencement of the programme.
  • A register will be kept for all courses, modules and workshops.

Fee free places on the course/modules offered by the University of Bedfordshire through the Faculty of Health and Social Sciences should be accessed by the following groups:

  • Priority 1: All NHS NMET healthcare professionals in Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire currently employed in a healthcare organisation.

At 8 weeks before course commencement, if spaces exist the following is eligible:

  • Priority 2: Non-profit making organisations in the independent sector within Bedfordshire, and employees of Bedford and Luton Social Services.

Username and password required to access application form

Authorised access to print off this application form has been given to Trust training leads only who have been issued with a username and password.

If you are not a Trust training lead, please observe the instructions on 'How to apply' as above.
