I hold the RSA Diploma in Teaching English as a Foreign
Language and have over 30 years’ experience of teaching.
I have a strong
business background, having run a language centre in a large government organisation
in France for 5 years and having taught both English and French in blue-chip
companies in the UK, and am therefore particularly qualified to teach business
English and business culture.
I also teach the main suite of Cambridge examinations, specialising in Advanced
and Proficiency, with a strong focus on British culture and familiar versus
formal language.
I use a great deal of authentic material in my classes,
including television programmes in order to familiarise learners with the
British way of life and way of thinking.
Additionally, as a French and German graduate, I understand the process of learning a foreign language and am sympathetic to the challenges faced by learners of English.
