Andreas is currently pursuing a PhD in Public International Law within the School of Law. His doctoral research focuses on the effective implementation of Council of Europe standards on the right of conscientious objection to military service for conscripted and professional members of the armed forces and aims at revealing substantive issues, common problems and best practices in relation to the protection of the right within member states. Andrea’s doctoral research is supervised by Prof. Jonathan Black-Branch JP and Dr. Silvia Borelli.
Andreas is a member of the European Commission on Sexual Orientation Law (ECSOL) and the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights since October 2010. He is also the Vice-Chair of the Research Student Support Group (RSSG). Andreas is fluent in Greek, English and basic French.
