Dr Hakeem Seriki, LL.B., LL.M., PhD, Solicitor

Senior Lecturer in Law

Dr Hakeem Seriki

Hakeem Seriki is a senior lecturer in Law and a qualified solicitor. He obtained his PhD in international commercial arbitration from Cardiff University in 2002 and then moved into private practice, working with two prominent international commercial law firms in the City of London.

He has acted on numerous commercial disputes (mostly with an international dimension) arising predominantly from the oil and gas, energy and telecoms sectors.

He has been involved in a number of reported high profile cases, acted for leading oil & gas firms as well as State governments and entities. Hakeem has published widely in leading commercial and international arbitration journals and is currently the arbitration editor of the Journal of Business Law.

Research Interests

International dispute resolution, international commercial arbitration, investment treaty arbitration, international commercial arbitration.

Research Supervision

Hakeem is happy to supervise research students in any of his research interests.

Teaching Expertise

Commercial law, international contracts, international alternative dispute resolution and corporate governance.
