Annie Hagen Danbury is a Senior
Lecturer in Marketing Communications. She manages MSc
Marketing Communications as well as leads and supervises undergraduate and postgraduate modules and dissertations.
Annie has been a student at the University of Bedfordshire herself. She pursued a first-class BA
(Hons) Marketing degree here, and then a Postgraduate Certificate in
Higher Education.
This year (2008) Annie was awarded a PhD from University of Bedfordshire for the work of “An Analysis of the Involvement
Construct in the Information Processing of Advertising Messages”.
Annie started her career in 1986 as a PA and Event Manager at Digital Equipment
Corporation (London and Denmark). She assisted the IT Director and managed special events, including budgeting, planning, and
co-ordination of suppliers.
In 1990 Annie started working as a Marketing Executive for L’Ecole Mac, London, where her duties included managing all marketing activities for this Apple Mac
approved training and consultancy centre and liaising directly with clients,
recruitment consultants, and suppliers (including third party).
After one year Annie moved to DESISCO, subsidiary of Digital Equipment Corporation
(now Compaq) and took the role of Business Development Manager.
Annie has worked as a Freelance Marketing Consultant for brands such as Seagram,
Bass plc, GE Capital, and Teknekron Software Systems Inc.
In 1995-1996 she decided to move to Office
Academy (Stevenage) and work as a Marketing Executive, taking the responsibility for internal and external marketing
activities in this Microsoft approved software training and consultancy centre.
In 1998-2003 she worked for the Arenson Group - President Office Furniture (Dunstable) and took on various marketing
assignments during this period, including report writing and research.
