Guy Parrott

Profile

Guy Parrott, Senior Lecturer and Marketing Course Leader

Guy is a Senior Lecturer in Marketing Communications and undergraduate marketing course leader. He is also an associate member in the University’s Centre for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (C.E.T.L.). He has made a major contribution to the establishment of a new model curriculum for stage one students, both on a practical basis as a tutor and through a growing body of research activity. Guy has received a commendation from the Vice Chancellor for work within the Aimhigher and schools liaison programmes and have been successful in delivering high quality teaching as supported by very satisfactory student unit survey returns.

Before coming to the University of Bedfordshire, Guy taught marketing at Barnfield College. He has also been a Marketing Director at Daventry Tertiary College. Prior to which he managed business and finance departments at Tameside College (Manchester) and Tamworth & Lichfield College.

Commercial Experience

Commencing in 1986, Guy worked at Yves Rocher (Cosmetics) modelling stock requirements and managing logistics for monthly and seasonal promotions. In 1988, he was ‘head-hunted’ to work at DDM Advertising on their Barclaycard Account. He moved to BMP to become a Client Account Manager on the Marks and Spencer Financial Services Account. Later working at Saatchi and Saatchi Direct, managing the Great Universal Stores (G.U.S.) and Hewlett Packard accounts.
