Robert has worked at the University for 15 years and has
lectured in a variety of marketing topics during that time. His current
specialities are Retail Marketing Management and International
Marketing. Both of these are final year subjects for Business and
Marketing students.
Before joining the University, Robert worked
for more than 30 years in the clothing and textile industries in a
variety of different companies. Starting as a management trainee with
the Harrods department store group, he subsequently worked in wholesale
and manufacturing companies in marketing and general management roles.
Although principally based in the UK, he travelled extensively
throughout Continental Europe, Asia and the USA.
During this
time, Robert studied for a variety of professional qualifications
including the Diploma of the Chartered Institute of Marketing. After
joining the University he studied for a Master’s degree at Kingston
University.
Robert’s responsibilities at Bedfordshire have
included programme management at both graduate and undergraduate
level. He has worked on a number of exchange programmes between EU and
USA based universities and has also been involved in recruitment of
students from the countries of Eastern and Central Europe after their
recent accession to membership of the EU.
From 2002-4 Robert served as an elected staff member of the University’s Board of Governors.
