David Solomon

Senior Lecturer in Mental Health

David SolomonDr David Solomon qualified as a Mental Health Nurse in the University of Bedfordshire in 2007. Dr Solomon has been a senior lecturer in Anglia Ruskin University and the University of Bedfordshire and worked as a post-doctoral research fellow funded by the NIHR in the University of Hertfordshire. Dr Solomon is a Senior Lecturer in the Mental Health Nursing programme. He is currently working on his ProfD findings dissemination.

Research Interests

Dr Solomon’s research interests lay with mental health, nursing, addictions, pedagogy and public health. Dr Solomon is a member of the MHNAUK, NSMNMP forum and the RCN NICE guidelines collaboration unit.

Projects

Currently, Dr Solomon is working with university partners on:

  • Manukau Institute of Technology in Auckland, New Zealand. Mental Health and Addictions among undergraduate nursing students in New Zealand: Time for change.
  • University of Huddersfield, UK. A survey of mental health nursing students who witness self-harm / injury behaviour amongst service users during placement.
