To organise and host a 3.5 day National undergraduate dance festival at the University of Bedfordshire in July 2011, and annually there after with the intention to expand internationally. The festival focus will be curriculum extension, employability and opportunity.
The RIT research project will form the initial research stages to enable the work towards the festival to progress. The festival itself will be held in July 2011 and run over 3.5 days. The festival will offer participants a selection of workshops, classes, seminars, talks and performance opportunities. University faculties and students will have the opportunity to perform work and work in progress and there will also be provision to show dance film. This in turn enables students to watch work from around the country fuelling their own perception and practice.
The aim of the festival is to extend the student dance experience from the provision offered by their universities. To enable students a greater knowledge of the post graduate provision available in dance across the nation and the breadth of opportunity for those working in dance.
