An exploration into the creative processes within interdisciplinary performance and how two Lecturers from different Higher Education Institutions can pool their individual expertise in different performance disciplines to collaborate on a performance work. This collaboration will enhance how each practitioner approaches creative work within their own HE environments.
The project will further develop knowledge of the skills utilised in the integration of styles and suitable technology/ media to create a performance works. The practitioners will focus on the fine balance between these elements that is needed to develop an original interdisciplinary work.
This process will produce an interdisciplinary performance work that will be presented at both HE institutions during 2010. The performances will give the students the opportunity to see their lecturers utilising the skills of which they are currently learning to facilitate within their own creative work.
A DVD of the outcomes will be created as a documentation tool of the processes used.
The piece can also be offered to other Universities/ Colleges that offer similar courses to University of Bedfordshire and Colchester Institute, continuing to increase their profiles as leading performing arts training facilitators.
