Sub Dean (International) and Senior Lecturer in Education
Mario Moya has been working in the field of education since 1996 when he graduated from the School of Humanities and Social Science at Cordoba National University, the oldest and most prestigious university in Argentina and in South America.
He lectured in both Languages and Linguistics and took part in many research projects. In 1999 Mario was awarded an MA in Languages and Education and won a scholarship granted by the British Council to continue his research activity in the UK.
Prior to joining the University of Bedfordshire, Mario became a Curriculum Leader at the Archbishop Lanfranc School in Croydon, South London and took part in the design and introduction of Languages to Croydon primary schools in partnership with the local council.
He worked as a lecturer/tutor in the post 16 PGCE programme at Lewisham College run in conjunction with Canterbury Christ University and also taught Languages as a lecturer/tutor with The Open University in London.
As a subject specialist, Mario has been actively involved in the delivery of teacher training courses both in the UK and Argentina.
He has also worked on various consultancy projects providing support to schools and teachers in the introduction and development of Modern Languages in the primary and secondary curriculum.
Mario is currently working on the development of a Virtual Classroom using BREO, a project that has received funding support from the Teaching Quality Enhancement office.
Mario's interests include research on CALL (Computer Assisted Language Learning) and Modern Languages Methodology.
