Fatahyah Yahya

Full-time PhD Student

I am a qualified counsellor registered under the Malaysian Counselling Board and a lecturer in counselling at the University of Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) Malaysia.

I am now on study leave and enrolled as a full time PhD student at the Institute of Health Psychology, University of Bedfordshire, Luton.

Qualifications

  • First Degree – BA (IRKHS) IIUM (International Islamic University Malaysia)
  • Second Degree – MA (Counselling) MU (Malaya University, Malaysia)

  • Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in children
  • Attachment Theory
  • Conflict in Demand/Withdraw Communication Pattern
  • Marital Quality Life

Recent Research Projects

Currently, I am in my final stage of writing up my PhD thesis, looking at the role of parental attachment styles in maintaining relationship functionality in parents of children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) symptoms’.
