This maze is a classical laboratory experiment used in the study of various aspects of the learning process. The blindfolded participant is required to trace the complete pathway until they reach a certain criterion of proficiency such as one or two trials in which no blind alleys are entered. Typically, a negatively accelerated learning curve is obtained, and the rate of acquisition as well as final practice level can be analysed.
