Dr Kaviani is a clinical/counselling psychologist and has several years of research and teaching experiences. He has approximately 15 years experience in the study of emotional and cognitive aspects of mental disorders, with specific regard to emotion, autobiographical memory, executive function and problem solving in both normal and clinical populations. His PhD was awarded in 1998 through King’s College London, Institute of Psychiatry. During his PhD under the supervision of Professor Jeffrey Gray, and then his post doc, he investigated modulation of human startle reflex through mood induction in patients with major depressive disorder and healthy controls. His work is published in several high impact journals.
Since 15 years ago, he has also had counselling and psychotherapy experience with clients suffering from depression, anxiety, OCD, academic problems, drug abuse and family conflicts.
