Senior Lecturer
I was awarded a PhD in the area of Cognitive Psychology in 2004. The specific focus of this research was an ‘Investigation into the Structure of Numerical Cognition and in particular, examining associations found between numerical cognition, spatial representations and memory processes.
I undertake a diverse range of teaching, research and consultancy activities. My main area of research interest is in neuropsychology. Recent collaborative work with a local brain injury association has explored the diagnoses of cognitive deficits and possible implementations of rehabilitation strategies for individuals with acquired brain injury. This work has involved Level 3 students as Student Researchers as I am enthusiastic about involving students to engage in staff-led research activities.
I have assisted in setting up the Department of Psychology, Consultancy and Training Unit. Areas of consultancy training sessions include delivering research methods design and analysis to a variety of audiences including colleagues and external delegates from a variety of different organisations.
I am involved in a number of research projects that include working with two local borough councils in evaluating their road safety and pedestrian campaigns. I continue to be involved in research relating to teaching and learning the student experience and student employability.
